In 1930, Marie-Louise Le Pluart, a talented cook, fell in love with a plot of land for sale in Lorient-Plage. Along with her husband, François Rio, she decided to build a restaurant there. Opened in 1933, Les Mouettes quickly became a sought-after destination, renowned for its simple yet generous seafood cuisine: spider crabs served with the famous house sauce, clams, scallops, and lobster with kari. Guided by the freshness of its ingredients and the authenticity of its flavors, the establishment has stood the test of time, evolving without ever straying from its principles. From Marie-Louise to her daughter Huguette, then to her grandson Gérard, three generations have shaped nearly 85 years of history, intrinsically linked to the seaside tourism of Lorient.
